English Setters for sale
We start 30+ pups/year to evaluate for breeding and only the truly elite are kept for breeding. This level of selectivity is a very rare practice which leaves a number of started English Setters for sale of significantly higher quality than is normally available as a started dog.
Pups are introduced to birds starting at 14-16 weeks. We have ideal grounds and keep approximately 200 Georgia Jumbo quail. They are flown almost every day so they are very strong flying birds. This allows us to turn loose pups and simulate a natural hunting situation. Pups are allowed to chase as we condition them to the gun while in chase mode. We stop the chasing once they are acclimated to gunfire. This phase is completed by 5- 6 months of age. The pups are well socialized | pointing staunchly | introduced to gunfire and most retrieve to hand.
Most prospects will be sold upon completing the puppy program. They are ready to go hunting. Another 8-10 prospects are run on wild birds through the fall. 6-7 of those prospects will be cut over the next year as we complete our evaluation. Started English Setters for sale
Ricky is a great looking prospect. He has been through our bird and gun intro and shows advanced manners on birds for his age, Ricky is driven yet biddable and also so very personable. He will make a great family companion.
Please Note:
We generally have 10-15 prospects under evaluation. Thay are made available as we cut them from consideration for our breeding program. However, we have a list at all times for these young dogs. The wait is generally 2-6 months. Calls us to begin the process if you are interested in one of our started dogs. It is also possible to select a litter and have us start a pup for you. Jewel is out of Berg Brothers Sage Brush X Berg Brothers Pawnee. She is very cooperative and mannerly on birds.
Maddie is one of our first pups out of Berg Brothers Doc Holiday. Her dam is Berg Brothers Molly McDougal. She has been extremely impressive so far. This photo was taken at 5 months of age.
Kira – Berg Brothers Sage Brush X Berg Brothers Ryder. This photo was taken at 12 weeks. Kira is 6 months old as 5/15. She is a pleasure as a companion and really solid on birds.
