Berg Brothers Big Easy
Bud was registered Berg Brothers Big Easy because he was such a natural that everything came so easily. He handled birds exceptionally well at a very young age and adapted quickly to every type of wild bird situation. He also has beautiful on point. Big easy has been very consistent in terms of producing these traits in his offspring.
Bud’s dam (Hope) is a great bird dog from elite breeding. She is the product of a frozen semen breeding to champion Tekoa Mountain Patriot and Champion Berg’s Head Turner. Head Turner was a one in a thousand kind of female. She rated elite accros every trait by which we judge a bird dog, including disposition. Hope was a remarkably consistent producer and we are seeing the same tendencies in Bud’s offspring. They have been exceptional on wild birds at a very young age and very biddable. Bud is owned by Paul Bukovich.

Berg Brothers Sagebrush
Sage is out of Berg Brothers Big Easy and he is definitely a chip off the old block. He was very staunch on game from a very young age. He also took to being broke steady to wing and shot before he was a year old. Sage has the exceptional bird finding and manners around game that we demand in a stud dog.
Sage also has a number of other attributes that make him a great candidate as a stud dog. He is a hard core bird dog but also extremely cooperative in the field and an absolute gentlemen in the house. He takes to any training quickly and wants to please. We think Sage will be a real asset to our program for several years to come.

Berg Brothers Wild Bill
Bill is one of the most naturally gifted dogs we have ever seen. He has an exceptional nose / absolutely elite manners around game and his application was excellent at a very early age. He pointed 4 coveys on his first walk on the prairie and we took a bird over each point while he stood perfectly. Bill never looked back. He pointed multiple species that first year including numerous ruffed grouse. He was even handling running birds well half-way into the first season.
He also has incredible style and biddability making him even more of a pleasure to hunt over. He is an ideal physical specimen and a real great companion too. He checks every box we could want in a stud dog.

Berg Brothers Rascal
Rascal is a younger brother of Easy Glide from the mating of Berg Brothers Maverick and Berg Brothers Faithful. That mating was done 4 times with incredible consistency. It’s a great gene pool that has been a great contribution to our program. The mental make-up of these dogs really stands out. They are driven yet exceptionally cooperative and trainable. They are also great companion dogs.
Rascal is a physical specimen like his sire although he is slightly smaller weighing in at 47 lbs. What stood out about Rascal from the very beginning is that he is an exceptional bird finder. Some dogs just have a better idea of where to look (application) and extreme focus. Rascal is one of those dogs. Rascal also adapts nicely to the terrain. He has been equally impressive in the grouse woods and the prairie. Add that he is a natural retriever and great companion and we believe he will be a real asset to our program.

Berg Brothers Doc Holiday
Doc is about as ideal of a stud dog as we have ever seen. His mental make-up (Trainability / Cooperation / Composure) is off the charts. He is our ideal ize. (47 lbs). Doc’s ability to handle birds is as good as it gets and his manners around game are absolutely elite. This ability was evident very early in his development and he just kept getting better.
Doc is also an elite athlete. He is powerful yet extremely agile in the woods and beautifully fluid on the prairie. His running and pointing style are exceptional. He is a pleasure to watch and you know you are watching an exceptional athlete the moment you lay eyes on him. That smooth gait and athleticism also promotes exceptional stamina and heat tolerance.

Berg Brothers Colt
Colt was an absolute Phenom as a young dog. He simply did it all on wild birds. The term Bird finding machine gets thrown around to easily but Colt has earned it. Colt can absolutely pile up the grouse finds and he was quite accomplished on grouse in his second season when he was less than 2 years old.
We bred Colt quite young given the remarkable natural abilities we saw in him. His first litters have been very encouraging. His pups show a ton of point and they honor other dogs very early. We have video on the video page of his pups honoring point and standing through the flush on the second day of training. The pups were 13 weeks old at the time! Colt is owned by Duncan Bukovich.

CH Berg Brothers Jack
Jack had an enormous impact on our program. His mental make-up (Intelligence / Composure / Trainability / Biddability) was off the charts. We place a great deal of weight on those attributes because the impact every aspect of performance and also significantly influence the desirability as a family comnpanion. Jack was the most personable dog we ever knew.
Another area where Jack was truly elite was his incredible bird handling and manners around game. He handled every type of uopland game bird and his manners after establishing point were impeccable. He was an absolute rock on point.

RU CH Northwood’s Nirvana
Nirvana is an outside stud that we bred to several times. Nirvana is out of Houston’s Blackjack and Northwoods Chardonnay. We had bred to CH Blackjack and his brother, CH Ridge Creek Cody with good success. Two of the Cody females we produced remain in our program. Nirvana was campaigned by Frank Lanasa who is a long-time friend. Frank is a great judge of natural talent and his assessment of Nirvana while developing him influenced us to be the first to use him as a stud dog. While Nirvana’s sire & uncle had great national recognition, we were extremely pleased with the type of dogs we produced out of Nirvana and we bred to him several times despite having a handful of very good stud dogs of our own.

PW Sunrise
PW Sunrise is from the last litter produced (frozen Semen) by CH Tekoa Mountain Sunrise. “Jack” is an exceptional individual and we felt he provided a great opportunity to circle back to close up Sunrrise breeding. Rich Robertson graciously allowed us to take Jack for several months and we produced multiple litters out of him.
All of the pups are still very young but we have some very impressive prospects out of great females. The pups showed great natural tendencies around game from day 1. One or two contacts and they were all about birds. However, pick them up and they are instantly calm. We have also been impressed with their physical traits and athleticism. We are confident that some of these pups will have a lasting impact on our program.

Berg Brothers Maverick
Maverick is an incredible physical specimen that moves with the grace of a small dog. He is 55 lbs of lean muscle. His male offspring have varied from 45-55 lbs and females 38-45lbs. Maverick has produced great natural ability. Check the video tab for his offspring. Big Easy and Serena were only 15 weeks old those first videos were taken. They were backing each other and standing through the flush on their second day on birds.
Maverick produces great bird dogs as his incredible running and pointing style is showing up in his pups. We consider the first litter an audition for a stud. It does not matter how good they are if they can’t reproduce it and Maverick would be an asset to any English Setter breeder. His pups have been intelligent bird dogs with great personality. We are excited to see what Maverick can contribute to our program in the future.

Berg Brothers Nordic
Nordic is a line breeding on CH Berg Brothers Jack who was a tremendous producer. We have used Nordic at stud several times and he has proven himself to be a great producer. His pups have been extremely natural around game at a very young age and they have developed into excellent bird dogs. One of the females we kept out of him was registered “Berg Brothers Prodigy” for her exceptional natural ability and steadiness on point.
Nordic is an excellent physical specimen weighing in at 50lbs. His pups have varied in size based on the females with males running 45-50 lbs and female 36-40 lbs. Nordic is also a very biddable dog and as nice of a companion as one could ask for in a dog.

Berg Brothers Coulee
Coulee is owned by Steve & Becky Enberg. Steve has done a great job developing Coulee and he has proven to be exceptionally trainable with impeccable manners around game. Coulee has proven to be a great wild bird dog on several species and he is especially accomplished on ruffed grouse. Steve gave Coulee every opportunity to prove he is in the category of the best of our breed and Coulee did his part. He is a great family companion as well.
Coulee has a couple litters on the ground and they have been really natural around game. They are developing very rapidly, pointing and backing staunchly at a very young age. There is a link to a photo of a male from his first litter below. There is also a link to a video of Coulee.

CH Tekoa Mountain Jetsun
Jetsun is another outside dog where we used frozen semen. Jettson was very successful trial dog that qualified for the National Championship at Ames. His trial success was not all that influential in our selection for him as a stud. When evaluating individual traits and assets, Jet is a genetic jackpot. He is a superior bird dog both in terms of finding and handling birds. He is also an ideal physical specimen and his stamina, heat tolerance and all style all reflect his physical gifts.
Jetson’s ancestry is very similar to a lot of our dogs and we also bred to his sire, the great CH Tekoa Mountain Patriot. We produced Berg Brothers Jude Jettson out the first matting to a daughter of CH Hytest Skhawk. Jude is everything you could ask for in a bird dog. Her stand-out traits are that she is incredibly biddable and easy to handle and as mellow as they come in the house. She has been an excellent producer.

CH Jetwood
Jetwood is another outside dog that we bred to after he had been very successful in grouse trials and other forms of walking trials. He is owned by another English Setter Breeder and friend (Steve Snyder) who has made a serious effort over the years to acquire and produce the best of the breed.
Jetwood’s ancestry is very similar to a lot of the dogs in our program so we were able to breed out to an elite dog while staying with the lines that have produced so well for us and Jetwood was exactly what we want in a dog. He is hard driving but not at all out of under control and very biddable. Jetwood is a great bird finder with exceptional manners around game and he has reproduced these traits in his offspring.
